  • Carnival news Saturday night.

There is a fabulous carnival atmosphere in Los Gigantes Plaza tonight.  The losgigantes.com team arrived about 11.30 the party was just taking off.  Then  rain stopped play at midnight, the heavens opened ? at least the rain was warm rain and couldn?t dampen the party spirit!  Everyone ran to the nearest bar for shelter and the sound system was covered over. Fortunately after 20 mins wind dropped, rain stopped and the party was back in full swing. Our team left about 2.30am and the party was still going strong.

Don?t forget all photos are available printed in hi?res from losgigantes.com at Custom Built Computer in El Varadero, simply note the image number below each picture to get your copies.

Check back Mon am to see the latest from the Grand Parade

All the best from the LG team

  • Given in early tonight! (Light weights I know)  Been working/partying since 4pm.

Filming the event, taking photos as well as joining in the fun sure is hard work, but what a fabulous day.  Not a cloud in the sky, no wind, everyone in party spirit.

Have to work tomorrow and be bright and breezy (ha!) then party again tomorrow evening for the grand finale, el muerto (death) of the sardine.  Don?t forget to ?dress? for the occasion guys!

Don?t forget the DVD will be out soon, be on it or don?t it?s up to you!

If you can?t be here check the web cam 11pm onwards to see the fireworks

Top Of the Morning to yer all

  • Well it?s all over for another year what a carnival, as most of you will know it ends with the ?death of the Sardine? a somewhat bazaar night which originated? Well you tell me! (Answers to info@losgigantes.com or contiune here but keep it clean and fun)

All in all a great Carnival, the new carnival committee have been appointed and we,ll bring you the details just as soon as we get them so keep checking back with us.

You can see some of the shots from sardine here more will follow. As will the DVD in the next few days.

Our the selection of photos were based on what our photographer needed for the commissions we had, most of those have not appeared, and he was also shooting video for the DVD.

Please feel free to put your own albums up with your recollections of the carnival. If you can't put them up yourselves please E-mail them to us and we will do it for you , but remember to right click and ?send to email recipient? then when prompted use the option ?make my pictures smaller? when the e-mail opens, E-mail them to info@losgigantes.com

N.B. this only works if you have Outlook or Outlook express correctly installed and configured on you machine.

  • The carnival committee choose a theme this year ?Seville?.  All of the organised events of the Carnival were based around this theme.  All were spectacular and very professionally presented.

However, it wasn?t compulsory for people joining in the fun to dress up as Spanish dancers or oranges, it would be very boring if we all looked the same. You can dress up however you like, as you can see from the photos.

Carnival is a time for the whole village to forget their worries and problems for a few days, let their hair down and have fun.  It is lovely to see everyone laughing and smiling, and I must add despite most participants having a bit too much to drink there were no reports of any trouble or fights ? that I know of.
