I had heard of the Rent A Car shortages in Europe a few weeks ago. I also saw the scandalous amounts of money some of them were charging for their rentals. They call it, supply and demand, I call it Rip Off. All to do with the lack of modernising their fleets and shortages of cars.
I would just like to say that to make customers pay for a problem you have caused yourself is totally unacceptable. We at Rent A Car Santiago have 20% more vehicles available this year than we did at the same period last year. Also our prices have not risen in the past 2 years, in fact the prices of our group A, B and C class Cars have fallen, in comparison to their prices last year.
Keep your customers happy and they will keep coming back, rip them off and its the last you will see of them.
In reply to Freddy's previous comment, yes unfortunately we had a serious accident earlier this month. A 73 year old gentleman decided to do some walking alone in the Masca area, leaving his wife behind in the hotel, on probably one of the hottest days of the year. After he failed to return at an arranged time and was some hours overdue, his wife contacted the Police and they managed very quickly to find that the car had left the road, in the Masca area, and had ended up some way down a barranco. He was taken to hospital, where they kept him in for 2 days for observation, and it seems that he has made a complete recovery, although he has no memory of the accident. The car is a write off, but did its job, with all the modern safety features, in enabling the occupant to survive without serious injury.
We have several more new vehicles on order for later this year and hope with the continued support of all our customers, that we can continue to grow and offer the newest type of vehicles with the latest safety features.
