  • Oasis are doing an offer at the moment, for a type B car ( saxo or getx) it is '8027 per day. No hidden extra costs.

  • Not being funny, but heard so many bad reports about some the cheap hire cars from Autoreissen at the airport. Just last week a friend got one, seatbelt kept popping out, power steering wasn't working and passenger window would not go down. Probably a reason why they are so cheap. Plus if you have a problem they do not have offices in this area. Try a local Renta Car, who also do Airport drop offs and pick ups, then if you have a problem, they are right on your doorstep to sort it out.

  • Just checked out the latest issue of The Tenerife Sun (Centre Pages) and a local Company, Santiago Rent a Car, are doing a weeks car rental (All Inclusive) for 147 Euros, thats 21 Euros a day.  ::) They are situated opposite the Hotel Barcelo Santiago, next to the Courtyard Bar. They also do free airport pick ups and drop offs. If anyone knows of a cheaper company, then please do say ?  ;D

  • Yeah, their advert has an e mail address.....

I phoned them in the morning and they called me straight back and helped me make a booking.

As for cars, I know they have Peugeot 106's, Citroen Saxos, Citroen C2'c, C3's and Xsara's.

    All the best.

  • Record Car Rental are good but book through their web site for a much better price.  Record have a desk in Arrivals at TFS.  I book an 'A' class car for around '8015 per, day including all insurance, and always get a free upgrade to a Picasso or similar.

  • I would endorse that recommendation Juan. They were recommended to me a few years ago on this message board. I had a nearly new 5 door Berlingo with air conditioning, central locking and radio. However, I think I paid a little  more for additional insurance cover for the windscreen and tyres.

  • The Judge has used Santiago Rent A Car for the past 4 years and is very happy. Nothing to do with the good looking girls in the Office either ! I pay about 14 a day. Also i've just heard that they are now also doing long term car rental, of 8 weeks or more, which works out ONLY about 100 euro's a week. I know where i'll be going to get my rent a car from for my 4 month holiday next winter.

  • Unfortunately my previous reply was zapped by the Moderator.  Apparently it's OK to mention Record Rent a Car but not their agents who give a massive discount.  If you want the details I guess you need to send me an e-mail.

As I said earlier, if you want to rent whilst in LG - try Tamay Autos in the Sombrero Apartment complex - depending on how trade is they often have special deals ie  3 days for 2 or whatever - what you waiting for ?

  • In the middle of a 3 month rental with Rent A Car Santiago. Car is great, no problems. With the never ending Calima, I used all my windscreen wash. I called them, as I couldn'b4t work out where it went, and they even sent a Mechanic out to show me. Whats more they even told me to bring it back every week and they fully wash and clean it for me. Saves me a jet wash token ! Nice personal service and friendly English staff. Will definately use this Company every time I come on holiday from now on.
