  • Sorry, you are out of date some of us who have been fined 13800.00 have already had to pay this into the Courts bank, although our cases are in the court with our lawyers, and as the Government have postponed their decision twice already it seems they will not make a decision untill NEXT Summer. one way of using somebody else money to keep you solvent

  • Not out of date. I'm commenting on the EU telling the Cyprus government to take up to 9.9% out of ALL bank accounts to bail out the Cypriot economy. No ifs or buts just take it! No allegation that the customer has done anything wrong. All bank accounts have now been frozen and atm's emptied so no-one can access their own money. This applies to all Banks including foreign owned!

I was speculating that, if this succeeds, what will stop them from doing it to other troubled economies especially if things get worse.

  • I wouldn't put it past the Tenerife Government.  They'd go to any length to get money out of people, especially poor, unsuspecting 'illegal renters'!  I thought the latest news looked a bit more promising Unhappy although it's going to take even longer to get sorted as you've so rightly pointed out.
