Bad Weather Forecast

  • I have been looking at the 10 day forecast and it isn't looking good.

I'm coming out on Friday and there are thunder storms and rain forecast until the following Wednesday!

I have learnt in the past not to take too much notice of these long range forecasts and have proved them wrong but I was wondering what happens to the Carnival celebrations if there are storms?

Anyway, just in case, we will pack some cards and a raincoat!   I'd still rather be sat in the rain looking out on the ocean than sitting at home thinking about it.  Saying that, we are currently enjoying fantastic weather for February and have just had a brilliant sunny weekend.  I hope I don't leave the sun behind on Friday. :'(

  • Lets hope what happened to Santa cruz Carnival does not happen to Los Gigantes - see following news reposrt

    Bad weather ruins Carnival closure
Santa Cruz's plans for a daytime finale to Carnival on Saturday were scuppered by bad weather and the various events had to be called off just minutes before they were due to start.

For the first time in years, the island's biggest Carnival had programmed day-time concerts and other events on the penultimate day of the three-week celebrations. However, thousands of people who had turned out for the activities were left disappointed after the organisers cancelled the concerts and other open-air performances due to the heavy rain. A spokesman said the rain was dangerous due to the risk of electrocution by the sound and lighting systems set up for the concerts.
