  • Whoever it is, we are bound to find out. The count of ?Travel Operators? going bust has started.

It is also a good time to do this in an administrative way. The flack and examination of the reasons
for collapse being lessened with quantity.

  • I would expect to see the surcharge go up for Credit Card use as well.

This surcharge implemented by the Trader not the Bank.

It was outlawed once (when it got out of hand), Consumer Credit Act 1974.
But exemptons are allowed when applied for.

This surcharge then becomes the norm in certain industries and Travel is
    a major one.

It reminds me of the stampede to change from 0845 to 0844 numbers when
the profit went down on 0845 and 0844 makes at least 150 percent more...

  • you are right about the surcharges on credit cards... and how different they are. i think (you can correct me) monarch still only charge ?5 for using your credit card to book seats, but, easy jet charge ?20 for the same transaction.

  • easyjet charge 2.5% for credit cards (?4.95 min) ?1.75 for debit cards. This is for the total booking not per passenger.
