  • We do travel for a few hours to Alcalá on our visits to LG especially to see the turtles swimming in the small harbour.

Is there any restuarants there for lunch or good coffee shops.

  • Our friends who live out there took us to Lupulo in Alcala.

A really nice restaurant.   Good food and wine, really well presented in a nice atmosphere.

We were able to sit outside with drinks before and after the meal.

You can use your Spanish as well which adds to a very nice evening out.

  • Sorry should have posted earlier

On our last visit in May looking at property ( don't worry I will not mention hiring out the apartment) we walked to that really posh hotel near the roundabout coming out of Alcala towards LG.

There were a lot of local police and speaking to them they said that the Real Madrid team where staying there.

When I mentioned that we were staying in LG in Pablado Mariero they said the rumour was they were hiring out a boat in the marina to go fishing.

Was this true does anyone remember.

  • The really 'posh' hotel is lovely, anyone can go in for a stroll & have a coffee, meal, visit the night club. I would imagine the football team would stay in Abama (the salmon pink hotel en route to Gigantes) as they usually have football teams/players stay in there. Man U stayed there last year. Not sure about the trip out of the marina for the Madrid players, could they all squeeze onto the Flipper Uno amongst the common tourists !!!
