7-seat car - prebook or not?

  • We're going to out first trip to Puerto Santiago the week after easter.  We're planning to go with the Teide cable car one day, and we guess renting a car will be the best option to get there.  We'll nead a 7 seat car.  Should we prebook one, or would it be as easy to shop around on the spot?  We've got online quotes as low as ?75 for one day rental (via amigoautos.com).

  • There may be organised tours up the mountain to save you the stress of driving there and maybe a little money.
    Worth contacting El Mar coaches.
Dolly is usually good on these things.

  • Santiago rent a car, based in puerto Santiago have good deals tel (0034) 922 861006. Their new web site will be on line in the next few days.  I'm not sure if they can do a 7 seater, but it is worth calling them.

All of the hotels and booking agents in the area will arrange a Teide trip for you, book when you arrive.

El Mar coaches (with driver) Tel 922 865991

Hope you have a good hol.

  • We're not very interested in going on an organized tour, as we have obtained permits for the Teide summit and I doubt most tours will permit time for that.

I did visit Santiago rent a car's new web site yesterday (it was up and running again), but I've lost its web address... :(
