  • Couldn't help but notice the 5 metal cages that have been erected one on top of the other at the side of El Marques (next to the main road) - doesn't make the building any prettier
I wanted to be the Cincinnati Kid - but couldn't spell it

  • At least they have proper fire escape and fire alarm systems in place.

  • ...buildings that do not have them. Everyone thinks they will wake up when there is a fire, or that smoke will not enter rooms without setting off a smoke alarm. I would rather stop at El Marques Palace then somewhere without what they have...

  • yeah yeah yeah - we all know that....

But, by the tone of  your post you imply that you are aware of places that are, shall we say, less well equipped.

Are you planning on bringing these to our attention, or just plugging El Marques?

  • Take your pick of large buildings that have no visible fire escapes or alarms yet merrily advertise them on the internet for holidays.

Just how would you know there was a fire?

If this plugs El Marques Palace as being safe and concerned then OK.

  • It may give some people a feel good factor if they have to evacuate El Marques in a hurry - but perhaps the architects/developers/planners/other appropriate regulators should have had this facility "built in" to the apartment when built, not as an after thought.  Pretty it aint,  functional - perhaps

  • It's not something to do with the new lift being installed to replace stairs in one of the older phase buildings is it? When we were there over Christmas and New Year the lift installation seemed to be near completion-ahead of schedule I believe as I think April was the projected date of completion.

  • Seems to be some confusion, are you talking about cages at El Marques or El Marques Palace???
