  • I am  pleased to see that the Santiagodelteide. com website is now back ?on air? with a new website format. Although it a Spanish website there is an English translation option (just click the ?English? link and it will translate reasonably well using Google Language Tools).

I used to find it very useful for its reporting of local news and social events such as:

?This Friday January 4 will be developed in the public square of Puerto de Santiago, a children's party to all children in the town, where there will be numerous attractions.
The event will begin at 16:00 am and will last until approximately 19:00 hours, will be the performance of several local groups, there will be inflatable castles, balls and a multitude of workshops including the workshop makeup, globoflexia, crafts, traditional cars ... ?

No doubt it will take several weeks or even months to get going again but I am sure that the website will be well worth visiting from time to time.

  • Falstaff. You need go no further than good old losgigantes.com for this information.  I receive daily bulletins from the Ayuntamiento.  Anything relative is translated and announced on this board.

The event today is included in the Xmas and New Yearn section of "What's on Locally - Programme of events"

I am working on the Jan programme now but as it is still Canarian Xmas time and everyone is still in party mood dates are slow to come in.
