Political Correctness

  • It's encouraging to read that we are becoming increasingly tolerant and fair to the more unfortunate and deserving members of our society by protecting their human rights:-

and on the other hand, that we are taking away the human rights of those evil members of society who  are so deserving of punishment.

Without wanting to sound racist, doesn't it make you proud to be British?

  • You should always be proud to be British. Also what a lot of people seem to forget especially in the media is there is a fine line between racism and realism.

  • I never had much time for Enoch. A very cold fish indeed. He was unfairly labelled  racist but  he clearly was not. He was an excellent economist and intellectual with a first class mind, but it doesnquote t take an intellectual to foresee the inevitable tensions which result from the placement of large numbers of incomers unwilling or unable to integrate into long established communities.

We have seen it in Northern Ireland and the Middle East with long lasting disastrous consequences. Those who attacked him were just shooting the messenger. What a pity that large numbers of incomers settle into  working class communities rather than those middle class communities occupied by Guardian readers.

  • There was recently a request on the net for people to sign a petition to Downing Street if they were against the building of a 100 million pound 'mega mosque' in London. The money was to be funded by tax payers,so I signed the petition as surely the money could be better spent on the NHS,the homeless, cancer research or some other needy cause. After signing the petition I received a reply from No 10 stating that they would not accept the petition as it was deemed racist and for our information there were no plans to build this mosque anyway.
Maybe its cos I is fat, what do you reckon Blue??

  • Just out of interest, did anyone catch this recent story...

"A teenage science student has been banned from applying for a training programme with the Environment Agency because she is white and English.
The recruitment agency handling the scheme told Abigail Howarth, 18, that there was no point in her submitting an application because of her ethnic background.
Abigail, who wanted to join the Agency's flood management programme, saw an advert in a local newspaper offering positions in the Anglia region where she lives, complete with a 'a313,000-a-year tax-free grant.
It made no mention of the ban on white English applicants, merely noting that candidates from ethnic minorities, such as "Asian, Indian' and "White Other, e.g. Irish, Welsh, Scottish', were encouraged to put themselves forward.

A spokesman for the environment agency ( a government body funded with tax payers money ) said..
"That is the way the law is laid. This is a chance for people who might be less employable to gain experience. Public-sector organisations have a duty to ensure they reflect the make-up of the society they serve."

What in heaven's name does " less employable " mean ?
England/Britain in the 21st century, we are becoming strangers in our own country.  >:(

  • Leo. why do you think that so many of us live over here. We are not dictated to by the politically correct brigade that are destroying what was once the most fantastic country in the world. We are governed by sensible fair minded people who listen to us but do not bend over backwards to patronise us. Sell up and come over and join us and smell the flowers.
ps. The weather is better also.
