Charity Money

  • I thought it should come to light that previously when the Bamboo Bar had a raffle they usually donate all proceeds to the Friends of the Animals, however the proprietor has now decided not to give to the charity. So people be aware who normally GENEROUSLY give knowing the money goes to charity that this is no longer the case!

  • This so called raffle is a dreadful thing!! Most people give money towards local & national charities willingly but to line someones pocket and fool the people is unacceptable........................

  • This was in the Tenerife Sun

    Trip for budding Beckhams

Some lucky young footballers are off to take part in a soccer tournament in La Palma, thanks partly to the regulars at the Bamboo Bar in Los Gigantes, who raised '80600 to help fund the trip.
Landlord and landlady, Jamie and June White, together with the Bambooquote s manageress, Charlotte, handed over the cheque to Santiagoquote s sports coordinator, Pepe Herrera.
The youngsters are all members of the Escuela de Football de Santiago del Teide, trained by Francisco Armas.
Last year the big boys went to La Palma to compete so this year itquote s the turn of the Benjamines B endash  8- to 9-year-olds endash  and the even younger Pre-Benjamines endash  7- to 8-year-olds.
Both sides will be competing in Los Llanos de Aridane for the Los Llanos Cup against teams from all over the Canary Islands.
The three-day tournament takes place from June 7-9.

  • OK Seb, enough of just flinging virtual vitriol and then running away!

How do you work out that that its taken 20 years? Im intrigued by the way your twisted little mind works totally indpendantly of any facts or basis in reality - explain yourself - If you really have a point I might be converted.

  • Now GiGi firstly my "twisted little mind" surely this is no way for School monitor to chastise somebody who inputs comments to this forum whether they be factual or not.

If you remember in past posts I commented on the modern decor of this place and the fact that the music is so repetative and we had already commented about the fact that the charity money was not so much as for charity but charity of "LINING POCKETS"

Admittingly I do air certain things that are designed to stir up some of our fellow inputters but it keeps us away from the playstation now doesn't it.

  • wot you missed that one Seb? - Me not school monitor anymore - Dolly Diver slapping everyone's wrists now.

I just get angry when people knock others who are trying to put a bit back into the community, the present owners havn't even been there for 20 years!! but in the time they have been here they've sponsored several good causes and not always made their generosity public!
