Just looked at this thread - it's certainly opened up a can of worms.
Although we're Tenerife junkies (6 visits in the last 10 years) I must admit that we've only stayed in Los Gig once (April 05 at Harbour Club), after 'stumbling' across it on a previous visit, when we thought what an excellent place it was.
We stayed 2 weeks, and I'm certainly glad that we are Brits, as I wouldn't like to stay at HC if we weren't. Although the resort itself was fine and the staff were friendly, it was a little too English for us - it may suit others, but it wasn't really our cup of tea (great for the sport in the bar, but did we really want to see re-runs of Little Britain EVERY night having been out).
I can certainly see why some people on this thread think that Brits have low standards, as I think that Los Gig could do with a few more 'upmarket' eateries. When on holiday, we do like our cooked breakfast and the occassional 'English' meal, but to be honest, we found ourselves continuously going back to the same 4 or 5 eating establishments - Sinatra's was one, the first cafe on the corner of the harbour, Krishna's and the cafe/restaurant run by the family from Leicester (for English food). The wife found that Pattiserie very nice too (too nice, fat moo - only joking!)
I am sure that there are other nice places to eat, but we didn't find them.
Having said that, we are looking at coming back to Tenerife in June or July and maybe doing a 2 stopper, with a week in Los Gig and a week at Golf Del Sur.
If anyone wants to recommend somewhere for us to visit for a meal, please feel free to do so, and we will endeavour to try it out.
