Where I have been recently

  • Hi everyone, just thought I would let you know where I have been eating etc for the past week and to supply a bit of opinion.
The fish place up the steps, not all its cracked up to be. Mixed fish grill, overcooked fish and choked by the smells emanating from the kitchen. Waited forever for a sweet menu. Seemed like once they had you seated they were quite happy to ignore you. Oh, nearly forgot to mention that the free bottle of wine never materialised either.
Friendly Dolphin still does a great selection of Tapas.
We were served rancid bacon at one of the bars at the marina. (decided to delete the name, as I realise that it was probably done unwittingly , benefit of doubt etc.)
Buffet at Barcelo for 16 euros was absolutely brilliant.
Best smallish restaurant so far has been San Francisco.
Jessis down at the beach has superb sardines.
Place at the corner of the marina has the best strawberries with cream and ice cream, yum! So many places to eat at, so little time. ;D

  • Hi gibbo, it was the evening meal type buffet. Loads of stuff to choose from and as much as you can eat. Good quality too, I was pleasantly surprised. You just go into the hotel and up the stairs in the corner to the restaurant. They just give you a ticket at the door where you go in for however many people there are in your party. Present the ticket at the till on your way out. Well worth a try IMO. I will be going again!

  • Regarding the Barcelo, if you have children aged UNDER 12, they eat for FREE so if you do have a child who is 12, just say they are 11, dishonest I know, but it will save you 17 euros as children just don't eat that much anyhow.
They do a fabulous breakfast too, everything you can want including sparkling cava wine...
