Tipsy terrace Bar

  • Could the owner of Tipsy's please ask the gardener to stop mowing & strimming the grass when people are sunbathing,it's annoying, damned rude & not so very nice when grass is flying everywhere & going in the drinks.
Also if you are going to charge people for the use of sunbeds could you ask the young man who goes round to collect the money why it is not collected from everyone,as i have seen it for myself,I don't see why friends, mates or who he takes a fancy to should differ from me.
P.S Please bring back the old gardener (Gabino),the gardens now look shabby & unkempt.
    Sorry my opinion.

    Hi folks

It's the place formerly known as the Sports Centre (Wine Bar) right by the bus stop in LG, you'll like the new decor.  See you in December.

I hope this helps  you regarding the sun beds, some apartment owners pay a fee so they?re guests can use them when  visiting the sports centre. I hope this is the case and not favouritism as you were to believe
We are going out to LG soon so I?ll do a bit of undercover investigation work for you. And report back my findings

  • Thanks Maps, the most annoying thing is the gardener doing his bit when you are lying sunbathing, gabino had that all done & dusted before anyone even got there.
It is a lovely setting though & inside the premises are lovely.have eaten there frequenly during the day but not at night.

  • At long last the gardens are looking better than they have since the day Gabino left.  GET HIM BACK!  He did the work unseen - not the the current one who wants to cover sun worshipers with debris and fill their drinks with dirt.  Also, any chance that ALL visitors to Tipsy Terrace are welcomed with a smile - not just the Los Gigs Old Lags?

  • Yes, we have to say, we had a lovely meal there and a nice swim. Was there a few years ago, this year 100% better.
Only one question, what happend to the parrot??,  my son did ask, but the girl working there thought Adam got it put down
after he left, that really upset us all.  So can someone, clarify the story  please

  • WOW WHAT A WONDERFUL PLACE THIS IS TO DINE, AND GENERALLY JUST WATCH THE WORLD GO BY.

I think the gardens look fab; surely we cannot be complaining about maintaining them.....

Rest assured I was charged for my visit by the pool and would happily pay it again.

I have to say there has been a lot of heart gone into this place and it certainly feels that way.

I aim to be back on those pool tables in winning style in no time ;)))))

  • I have been following this thread.

As soon as there is a comment that is constructive regarding the service, it is censured.

Then there is an influx of positive posts.

As someone who has never eaten here I would keep clear......

    Removing constructive comments shows bias.

A sudden posting of positive and supportive comments then suddenly becomes very suspicious.

  • Im so glad the parrot Casper is alive and well.  But being an animal lover myself, how could someone (adam) do such a heart less thing and just give him away, as if he was just a peice of cloth. My mother always said you can judge a person on the  way they treat there fellow animals. In this case, i think Adam should be ashamed of himself. Is there not the spanish version of the RSPCA in tenerife?
I dont know robert or mark but i hope they are looking after him, and an update would be nice

  • To Mrs Mcloud
First of all you should be ashamed of yourself by jumping to conclusions regarding the wellbeing of Casper without knowing the true facts you are obviously a woman of very limited intelligence and you make up your own mind on hearsay.
While at the sports centre i helped raised 1000S of euros by starting off the carboot sales for Friends of the animals and the association DE San Francisco and i believe these events are still taking place , i have given holiday apartments for holidays as prizes in raffles.
i took in a stray dog frank which is still a beloved member of our family even though i live in England now and he is with my mum in los gigantes.
The reason Casper was given to Robert and mark was that he was use to be out all day at the sport centre and when i decided to leave the sport centre we moved down to the harbour club and unfortunately the restaraunt is only open from 6pm in the evening and this meant Casper being locked up inside till we opened i thought this was not fair on him and with myself living in England i decided it would be in the best interest to find Casper a new home, Robert and Mark had approached me a few months earlier and said they would be interested in taking him and that is where we are now.
My mother use to say to me there are 2 sides to every story and i believe she is right.
So next time you want to criticise somebody why not hear both sides of the story first before performing a public character assassination on an individual ,  your mother was right you can judge a person on the way they treat there fellow animals and you've made me out to be a heartless wolf  so shame on you and i will speak to Robert and mark to give you an update on his wellbeing  ADAM

  • I feel it was being told that Casper had been put down that started this.
Followed by a matter of fact 'that he had been given away'. His
surroundings were great and that was it.

    Cue Pet loving Post

Then the full story comes out. Mr MAN I am sure you can see why
that post was made - the other side of the story was not known.

  • Typical  really when you think about it.
I start with one topic which really now should be dead in the water & now we are talking about Casper the bloody parrot.
I know for a fact Adam gave it to a nice home,& what he says about keeping it indoors all day is true.
The headline was Tipsy Terrace not Adam & his parrot.
BL what you say certainly seems to make sense to me.

  • The matter is closed on my behalf but i do feel it is necessary to reply to criticism even when in my point of view the person has been ill informed i won't go running to the administrators of losgigantes.com asking for things to be taken off or i don't agree with, hence the long winded reply.
The whole idea of Mrs Mcloud blog was to find out what had happened to Casper and this has been achieved but the way she took on board at a whim idle gossip and didn't once think that there might be a logical reason for Casper to be relocated i found naive and then to publicly berate me on the back of this was totally unacceptable, but again that is only my point of view.
i have spoken to the British embassy and interpol and i am not on there top 10 most dangerous animal keepers list .
P.S  There is no RSPCA in Spain but there  are associated groups which are linked to it , in tenerife there are 4  associations one of them being San Francisco de los animales one of the groups i work with and less than 8 months ago did a fundraising dinner for at the winebar raising just less than a 1000 euros so Mrs Mcloud the the facts are out there its just the way YOU decide to gather and use them which leaves a lot to be desired.
P.P.S  I've heard one of MR BEEP BEEPS dancing poodles has gone missing..... I WAS AT HOME WATCHING  DR DOOLITTLE 3 AND TALKING TO FRANK.

  • Mrs Falstaff and I spent many a pleasant hour here on our last visit a few weeks ago. It is without doubt a very relaxing environment enjoyed by many visitors. We even had a meal which was excellent. Mrs Falstaff had the roast parrot which is apparently a Canarian delicacy. ;D ;D ;D

Whenever I look at Los Gigantes from a vantage point, the sports club is
the only substantial flat area which is relatively undeveloped. I wonder how long this will last?

Perhaps it?s a question of use it or loose it? What a loss that would be.

  • Last evening my wife and I visited Tipsy Terrace for the first time. What a refreshing experience we enjoyed, from being met with a smile to leaving some two hours later feeling well fed and content. The decor and comfortable seating all helped to make our evening. After living in the area for some ten years we felt it was  great that someone has at last opened a restaurant with a different theme. Well done ladies and keep up your standards, which eventually will bring you success and fame as a good place to eat out in Los Gigantes.

  • We came back home a few days ago and one of this visit's pleasant surprises was Tipsy Terrace.  Six of us ate there twice and everyone thoroughly enjoyed their meals.  Not only was the food delicious but the service was excellent, attentive and friendly.  Well done to Sally, Sarah and the rest of the staff.....highly recommended.

You two faced hypocritical *****, how can you say you are an animal lover when you joined the baying mob about Dingos Rescue? Without even cheking into it yourself, if it was up to you the 80 dogs up there would have gone hungry this week, all i can say is thank god Dollydiver and Judith Noble came and visited yesterday!
You should hang your head in shame for the furore you helped to create and please don't ever insult us all again by claiming you are an animal lover when you object to dogs only 4 miles from Los Gigantes having food!
Animal lover? the feral dogs on the rescue know more about humanity than you!

  • Mr man aka Adam would appreciate that if you are going to use parts of threads to get your point across do it in a way that any new readers or people just browsing get a clear picture, by quoting Mrs Mclouds ill informed thread as an example of her naivety you have left people with an opinion about myself which is based on fiction.
Mr Man received an apology from Mrs Mcloud after i gave a full explanation of the events and the matter is closed, unfortunately in this world people are different and everybody has a democratic point of view and what you might think is correct may not be correct in other peoples eyes, You know yourself what you are doing is right so keep going and good luck.
