  • This string has been making me more and more angry.  I always follow this forum to keep up with everything but have never felt the need to join in.  Jill seems a lovely girl with a stunning voice but since the night Bob publically slagged off his competition in the neighbouring Courtyard bar I refuse to go to see them ever again.  Too big for his boots is an understatement, and he?s certainly not professional.
I?ll be keeping an eye on Dolly Divers what?s on page as there a many other entertainment establishments in the area with very good entertainment.

  •  :'(Seems to be have a go at Bob day. Yet again I am chastened but please don?t take everything I say at face value, much of it is very much tongue in cheek as all the local acts are good friends and now and again have a pop at each other. Sorry Rosie I?ll try not to do it again!! Bob Jill tells me off as well and rightly so but it is harmless fun or at least it is meant to be. :'(.

  • I am a timeshare owner at El Marques and have been going for the last 8 years. Jill is correct, the management is very poor yet at the AGM it appears the manager is always congratulated on the management. I don't think they know what management means. Our maintenance goes up and up each year to subsidise for the management's poor decisions. I am hoping to travel to the AGM this year and will certainly be putting my views over. What do El Marques expect? Other than ODNT, the entertainment is I am stupid poor. Oh well....

  • From what I can tell about El Marques and Las Rosas. They are based on time share and do not
hold any affiliation to the Tenerife Tourist Corporation. The Tourist Corporation operate a Tourist
Key System for Apartments, to at least guarantee what is provided or provide a place to complain
to, should it not be up to the standard of the Keys.

So people who are pulled up by timeshare owners or other owners as to conduct must expect this.
It is firstly a community. I would expect that the owners wish any entertainment to be self financing as well!

Go to a proper Tenerife Tourist registered place with Keys.  There are two close by if you wish to come
    back to the same area.

Would you go to a Hotel with no stars or other registration?

  • In reply to "PookyBlues" posting can we just point out the at NO time on this string has Jill stated that the management at "El Marques" is p..s poor. In fact at no time has Jill made any statement on losgigantes.com. We thank you for your kind words re- "olddogsnewtricks" but please fight your battles re your perception of the management of your resort with WimPen at the AGM.

  • As the original poster I have read the various posts with interest and some concern.

My initial post was regarding the reduced fees to ODNT at El Marques and the possible loss of income on a Monday night.

I don't criticise the management (unless justified). The management of the complex seems fine, we are talking about the entertainment here.

Bob is quite right in that management issues should be kept right out of this forum and dealt with at the AGM

  • In reply to Bob?s answer to Pookyblue5 (I'm Pookyblue5 but had to log on as this), the facts are sitting on this thread. I quote ?El marques is a potential goldmine but needs to be managed. There is no management.? That was from olddogsnewtricks in this thead. I am perfectly capable of fighting my battles re management but Bob, your thread is here in black and white so to speak. All I have done is support you but there you go, one must start looking after no. 1.

  • As I recall as stated on another thread, please let this subject be closed. Really not worth all the attention its being given.

  • I believe that most people who have bought in El Marques did so as to ensure comfortable accomodation and not the fact that that the same old same old played there???
If you have problems then you should really moan as you all do to the collective company called WIMPEN or use your exchange system to try other locations, easy really.

  • Sebastian, I'm not sure who you are referring your post to, but yes you are correct, I bought my timeshare there to secure my accommodation every christmas and new year and to be honest couldn't give a monkeys about the entertainment.
