  • I can definitely agree that this is a lovely bar, we went a few times on our recent visit.  We were very well looked after by friendly people in lovely surroundings.  You really get the impression that this couple are trying.

    Do try it!

  • san francisco is up on the top road opposite all the new buildings which are nearly completed.  it has a manmade 'beach' there, restaurant etc. there is a transito supermarket and i presume the new bar is where sissi restaurant was.  you would need a car to get there.

How about taking a taxi? They are inexpensive in Los Gigantes. We do not like to drink and drive.

Our family have been known to walk to the San Francisco Transito area from Los Gigantes it doesn't take long.

  • Yes this is another bar, a little different to some, I would say if you want to go somewhere quite for a drink and in tranquil surroundings try this one, it opens @ mid day & apparantly closes @ 2am but think I would be asleep by then if I stayed. Because it is on its own & out the way of los gig, I could only have 1 drink so mabie the owners might pay for your taxi home in los gig, like some other bars in the area do!

  • We have just got back from Tenerife, we were staying in San Francisco and we visited this new Bar La Amazona.

I think the owners have done an excellent job, the style of the bar is superb with a very relaxed atmosphere, the toilets are very very clean, which is important to our family.

We tried the tapas and it was freshly cooked and not expensive. As we were staying within 100 yards, we could walk there, but when we went to eat in Los gigantes, we would get a taxi to the amazona and it only costs 3 euros, so not dear at all.

Overall, we rate this as one of the better bars in the area, we hope they can maintain the cleanliness and offer the same friendly service when we return next year. We wish them the best of luck .

  • Hello,

Yes, the owner is a chap called Glenn but I cannot remember his wifes name, she is canarian. He told me that it used to be an austrian restaurant called sissi.

I do recommend anyone to visit just to see it , it is very beatifully decorated.

We also enjoyed very much the Oasis water centre in los gigantes, our kids had a great time.

    all the best

  • Seems like a few people will go to visit this new bar, you will not regret it I think.

It is one of the nicest pubs we have ever been to in Tenerife, we will be back In february and we will certainly visit it again, along with some other restaurants like Juan Carlos, which is excellent.

    regards

  • tried this bar out last night after doing my shopping in transito. the owner was very helpful and insisted in putting my freezer purchases in his freezer so i could enjoy a relaxing drink. stayed a little longer than originally anticipated due to the fact that the drinks are cheaper than some of the bars in los gigantes enjoyed viewing the stars at night (NOT THE ENTERTAINERS ) in peace and tranquillity through the telescope amazing what one can see. will most certainly go again hopefully this bar will survive a little longer than some of the others
ps  took the previous advice and left the car at home so i could drink and the taxi could drive!
