  • we were over in los gigs in late january early february , and on my birthday friday 30th we had to do something different, I had seen some of the posts about tajinaste, so decided to give it a go , it was folk night , now me and the wife are not avid folk music listeners, but what a splendid night we had, a taxi up there (3 euros) couldn"t be easier , we had a meal of lamb and grilled prawns and very nice it was , the beer kept arriving all night thanks to a superb barman called jim , as I say we are not at all folksy but we really enjoyed the crack and banter , I suppose if you had to descibe the place I suppose you would call it "rustic" but it made for a lovely atmosphere, if you havn"t been try it you could be pleasantly surprised and entertained as both me and the wife were. other plusses if you like to watch a footie game now and again , as we do bar torreon is the place (across from barcello hotel) thanks to tino, lulu, and lucy for superb hospitality as always , breakfasts? try the cafe calypso the kippers for breakfast were great , and thanks to kim for her lovely personality
we also had a lovely apartment but I had better not say where as I don"t know the exact rules for advertising
eight times in the last ten years we have been and yes it is still superb , and the same friendliness year after year, (mind you it was the dearest but who cares , and god willing we will be there again next january)

  • Amunette, If Jim is your Dad, I agree he is a good barman, kept us going when Fred & Glynis arranged our renewal wedding vows in October 2008. Hope to be back later this year. Anyone reading this if you are at Tajignaste say Hello to Fred & Glynis for me, also I enjoyed seeing their photo's at the Lion's Ball. Hello to everyone  who celebrated with us.
