  • I am coming out to LG tomorrow for a week and wondered if anyone knew if the group UNDERGROUND are playing anywhere in the vicinity? Also can anyone tell me if BITTER and TWISTED are still on at TJs on Tuesday nights?

  • I don't know where Bitter and Twisted are these days.

Underground will be playing at Route 66 (opposite Barcello Santiago) on Sunday May 13th and 20th at 9pm

and at Tajinaste Restaurant on Sunday May 27th 4pm. (a taxi from Losgigs is '803.50)

The Tajinaste restaurant is near the small village of La Caldera on the Tamaimo road.

How to get there:- From Los Gigantes Police/Fire station follow up the hill on the Tamaimo road for aprox 1km. Turn right into the village of La Caldera (there is no sign post) go past the laundry and turn left after the little church. Follow the very narrow road until you come to a fork in the road (aprox 1km). Fork right. Here you will see a small car park and the restaurant.

  • What a great night it was at Tajinaste just outside Los Gigantes, on Friday night. We took a taxi to the restaurant which cost us just 3.50'80 for the 4 of us, the typical Canarian tapas was fantastic, be careful when you order, there is quite a lot !! the entertainment from the "Folk Club" was amassing, the kind of music sung and played there is such a wide range from the players, ie: 50's 60's 70's, comedy, country and even a little modern rock, having said this, not one loud speaker or microphone in sight, everything is completely acoustic, what a refreshing change, we loved it and we were encouraged by the players to join in the fun and singing. It is definitely a must.

Looking forward to Sunday 27th May where Underground & guest artist's will be playing at Tajinaste, the last time we went, was so good !!! it started about 3pm and was none stop entertainment up until about 10pm "WOW WHAT A FANTASTIC ATMOSPHERE" cant wait for the 27th guy's!!!

  • There is still entertainment in the village, certainly at T.J's, Domingos and Paddy's catering for tourists. Music, especially outside, has to stop by midnight and noise levels, are monitored.  This is the law, and the law round here carry guns!

Tajinaste is slightly out of the village, not in a built up area, there are no neighbours to complain because they are there joining in the fun, or working in the restaurant.  It is more popular venue for locals but many tourists who hear about it and visit leave declaring they can't wait to return.

    Folk Night - Fridays 9pm

Next Live Music with Underground (and guests) Sunday 27th May 4pm

  • Just back from a week in LG and went to see UNDERGROUND at ROUTE 66 last Sunday. We really enjoyed their music (Pink Floyd. R.E.M., etc). I would definately recommend going to see them if you like that sort of music. Route 66 was packed full and everyone seemed to really enjoy it. Will certainly go to hear them again next time. ( In 6 weeks time I will be back!)  :)

  • The Tajinaste sounds interesting, but do you have to eat there? Can you just go for the bar and entertainment?
