  • I can honestly say, this is the Worst place I have ever had the missfortune to visit.
The service is diabolical, we ordered starters and a main course, the main course arrived first, I told them to take it back and bring the starter. He said (waiter, I use the term loosely) I dont need to take it back as I will bring the starter now! I explained politely that I expected the starter to arrive first, I again asked him to take the main course away, he refused and brought the manager. In the end, we had the main course and refused to pay for the delayed starter. We ate and left, never to return, I can eat overcooked microwave food when the Mrs goes shopping and I am home alone.
A totaly digusting, rip off tourist trap.

  • We used to go now and again, menu quite good (like all the rest - the same). Haven't been for a while, as main course arrives as soon as you have ordered and your plates taken away as quick. Although we do not generally have starters, we still like a dining experience to last longer than two minutes. Even I can manage that, well sometimes anyway - I think!

  • I have never been in it in all the years we have been visiting. I am put off by the birds flapping about in that huge cage and just do not fancy feathers and goodness knows what else on my plate!!!!!!

  • Will never go back to that place again, can't grumble about the food it is lovely - but the waiters are awful, think they are doing you a favour in serving you! When we went in March this year we asked for our bill 4 times and was totally ignored so in the end I went to the till and asked for the bill, when I got it found we had been charged 30 euros for a bottle of wine we never had! NEVER AGAIN!!!

  • I would like to put the record straight regards this restaurant. The chef who worked for little Italy took over the  place more than 18 months ago and re-branded it back to Tamara as it was known previously. Since then. in my opinion, the quality of both the food and service has shown a marked improvement. I would suggest that all the people who have tried to show this establishment in a bad light. many on hearsay and others who have not dined there for years, walk past early afternoon or mid evening and you will see that it is probably the busiest restaurant within the village. The waiters remain the same as those who worked for the previous regime but I have always found them to be friendly and courties and like most Spanish waiters they give you back the respect that you show to them. Let us forget the Little Italy and judge the current establishment on merit and not on the previous era.I am not recommending the place for a Michelin Star but I do feel it deserves better press than it receives on this forum.

  • As Oldgigantes says, Tamara restaurant has had some bad press on this forum in the past.

Another site, Tripadvisor, has reviews of most Los Gigantes restaurants & cafes from people who have ACTUALLY visited the places.

Along with other LG restaurants you can find ''unbiased'' reviews of Tamara here...  www.tripadvisor.co.uk/Restaurant_Review-g673870-d1952695-Reviews-Tamara-Los_Gigantes_Tenerife_Canary_Islands.html

but please disregard any comments more than 18 months old.
P.S. I do not work for Tripadvisor.

i should like to comment that little italy is busy early afternoon and mid evening due to day trippers to los gigantes marina.  it is not necessarily repeat business from local holiday makers.  but, my one question which would be the deciding factor in re-visiting - have they got rid of that rude waitor?

    Not just this site then!

Although somebody did have a good meal there in May, so that must be the improvement Oldgigantes mentions. I think maybe one or two of the waiters were possibly on holiday at the time.
