Jardin del sol

  • Hi All!!

My wife and I come to Los Gigantes every year and we used to enjoy eating at Jardin del sol but to our disapointment the last time we were there it had been closed. Does anybody know if it has or it will re-open? Also what happened to the manager Orlando?

    Many thanks

  • I too was sorry when Jardin del sol appeared to have closed down - but alas on a recent visit delighted to see it open once more although didn't have the opportunity to try it out - but I will.

There did seem to be a lot of people in the village circa just prior to Easter the bars and restaurants all seemed to be doing quite nicely, just image the activity in the village if all the newly built apartments in and around LG get bought - we may find ourselves having to book a table for wherever we wish to eat. Perish the thought

  • I have had a few friends eat in Jardin del Sol recently, they say the food is ok, the atmosphere is a wipeout.  I have not eaten there myself for a while though.  Orlando is now managing the restaurant in a hotel in El Varadero...

  •  i take back what i said about jardin del sol - and i agree, the atmosphere is shocking, went in last night, i think the staff would prefer no customers at all!! who are these people, where are they from, i dont recognise any of them? didnt even wait to taste the food - i mean, you can only sit there for so long without a drink....., they werent even busy, people were getting up and leaving throughout our stay there..!! ??? >:(

  • The owners wanted to concentrate on  their other businesses in the North so decided they no longer wished to take an interest in the actual running of the restaurant, so this lead them to lease the restaurant which is where the new people come into it.  They are not from around here they are from the North.

  • I have just had 2 very good meals at Jardin del Sol. The staff could not have been more friendly, we were not rushed and the food was excellent. I realy hope that this very pleasant couple do very well, I would encourage anybody to try this restaurant.
