Harbour Club Restaurant

  • Read recently that the above restaurant had closed.

    Any updates?

Is it being refurbished to open as something else?

Did Fletch return to Tenerife or has he gone for good?

    Wicksy

    Which restaurant was that?

    el observador

Perhaps it would be best for us to forget all about it until it has been sorted out, re-opened and the new proprietors are prepared to accept a little constructive criticism from its customers as well as any praise that may be forthcoming.
Continued postings on 'the establishment which has requested not to be mentioned' is driving me up the wall. (and I'm usually a very placid bloke)

Actually obs I think you're probably right, bercause it was fletch that asked "not to be mentioned" and hes no longer there. I believe adam from th Leisure centre is doing something spiffing with the place altough I havnt been yet. Ill take the automatic bnlock off cheers

  • I appreciate what you are all saying and know where you are coming from but, as we own timeshare at this establishment, we are genuinely interested about what will be replacing the old establishment and what is actually going on there as we are not in the know back here in blighty !!!!!

Don't want to annoy anyone or start anyone off but would like to know if any thing does happen over the next month before we come out to see for our selves.

Happy New Year everyone !! ;D

  • Why did Fletch ask for the name 'Harbour Club' not to be shown on this website - was it getting unfair bad publicity?

I mentioned on an earlier thread that we were disappointed with Harbour Club itself, although this was mainly due to the restaurant and bar being made too 'English' - the actual apartments were fine and the staff very good (apart from Fletch's nephew who I'm sure nicked my sunglasses from the bar >:().

I must admit that I didn't complain when the UK football was on the television though ;)

  • i think the restaurant and bar will be great with new owners. it is in a great location and someone has spent money on it, it looks good!  i never ate there - karen did a good job in scaring us off - but would try it now.

  • "The restauarant with no name" At last it has come about to show off its name now that ""OBTRUSIVE OFF KEY SINGER & BIG BIRD WITH NO IDEA ON RUNNING RESTAURANTS"" have vacated the island............. Lets hope the new person can supply better quality food and service than the previous "MUPPETS"
    Good Luck to you

  • Sebastian - outspoken and straight to the point as always !
He does make me laugh at times !

Blaggers - I wasn't having a go at you, honest. Just, like others, I was getting a bit fed up with this ongoing saga about...not to be mentioned...when nearly everyone knew which premises was being referred to. Bloomin' daft but rules is rules. You enjoy your holiday paradise as indeed I enjoy mine up over the hill and down the road. It can only be hoped that someone will make a go of things and cusomers can start to leave positive feedback in time. I hadn't eaten there for years either. Your little picture is very nice.

  • Come on guys get to grips. If you spent less time on the computer and more time reading you would all know what was happening with the Habour Club. There is a great big advert in the new Tenerife Sun. It's going to be a steak house!!

Janey - How have they improved the restaurant?

Blaggers - I hope that you let us know what you think of the new improved Harbour Club on your return next month, so we know whether to go, or avoid it.

  • Do Bernie Inn's still exist anywhere?

Still remember Del Boy in Only Fools and Horses mentioning taking a girl for a Bernie Inn - they were the butt of jokes in those days too.

I'm intrigued to know, as a new forumite on here, who lives in Los Gigantes/Santiago out of the posters on here and what do you do for a living?

  • Hi all.

I've been trying to find the advert in the Tenerife Sun but have failed miserably.

Bear in mind I am looking at it on the internet and do not have a hard copy.

    Any ideas?

  • Blaggers, not all versions of the Tenerife Sun accessed via the internet contain the advertising pages. I have sent you a private message explaining how to access them (at least I think I have).
The ad is on page 36 entitled, ldblquote The 1976 Bar and Grilldblquote . It is supposed to open in February 2007.

  • Thanks Falstaff.

Yes found it - looks good if it opens in time, I will be able to sample the menu etc.

I wonder if they kept the Argentian chef on?  Looking at the menu that is a possibility!

  • Well, Goodness Gracious Me !!

This establishment has had more mentions in the last few days than I don't know what. How nice to be able to discuss it again out in the open !

We can all join Sebastian for a Steak Evening Spectacular at some future date ?

And Wicksy....don't be nosey ! We are all retired millionaires living up this end of the island. I wish !

Do you think it will be open by 16th Feb?

  • i believe it opens in a couple of weeks and is going to be called the 1976 Restaurant.

I am thinking of leasing the bar outside and calling it the 31 bar. ;)  Soon to be re-named the 32 bar on the 18th February*.

    * only joking Adam if you're reading this. ;D ;D ;D
