El Marques Hotel, New Years Eve

  • Can anyone help me please with some information about El Marques? We are spending New Year in Los Gigantes and would really like to see Bob and Jill (Old Dogs New Tricks) who are playing there on New Years Eve. Is it residents only or are  non-residents able to go? This being the case, would anyone know if we should book a place? Also, what other events happen over New Year? Is there something going on in The Square? Finally, what sort of temperature is it in Los Gigantes at that time of year? (Planning what to pack already!)

Would be grateful for any answers please! Many thanks.

  • Hi, as long as you buy drinks/food I think anyone can enjoy the entertainment on an evening.

  • I don't know anything about el Marquez at New Year.  Other forum users may be able to help out here.

The party in Los Gigantes square at New Year is always very good.  Continuous dancing to live music.  No entry fee.

The weather in Dec/Jan can be hot enough during the day to sunbathe and swim but in the evenings you may need a lightweight fleece.

  • I am an owner of timeshares at xmas and new year and to be honest the expense of the meal at el marques will I reckon be around 75-85 euros per person this year for the meal. For this reason we do not go, there are 4 of us and to be honest the atmosphere is not there anymore. We go down to the square and normally get back to El Marques at around 1.30am to have a drink with our mates but last year most people were gone. Most people just stay for the meal then go. By the way there were tons of complaints last year about the meal so a lot of owners are joining up together this year and doing a do in their villas then all going down to the square or a lot of us are going to the Barcelo which is around 45 euros a head.
You can still go and listen to Old Dogs New Tricks without a meal, you don't have to eat to go into El Marques.

  • Nikki GQ might be able to shed some light on this subject as she is connected to El Marques Palace at the moment (I think) :-\\

  • Hola amigitos !  ;D

El Marques has nightly entertainment, and outsiders are welcom to use their bar & restaurant.

El Marques Palace, does not have entertainment, and the pool bar is for residents only.

The square in Los Gigantes is the best place to be at midnight on New Years Eve.

    Ciao for now . ;D
