  • A cold Dorada or two at lunchtime would be very nice, but if I drink beer at lunchtime then Iquote m snoring in the armchair by 5pm.  Then Dorris accuses me of being a boring old fart!

  • Borris & Dorris sound a bit false to me if they went to solecito they would know the coast road from los gigantes has been shut for months.

  •  Surely the coast road along Playa de la Arena is passable to the hill at Spanish Corner.

  • The road through Puerto Santiago is temporarily closed (Spanish Corner is cut off to traffic), the Good Food Guides are posted indefinitely, therefore there is no need to confuse matters by listing 2 sets of directions.  The road diversion signs are in English as well as Spanish so I donquote t think it is difficult for people to work it out.

According to the workmen busy with the road it should be open one way in 4 endash  6 weeks.  The inner lane will be in use while they continue working on the outer lane.  An outer retaining wall is being built now.

There is room for pedestrians to walk through.

  • What is the matter with you Ghod?

There have been many people thanking us for the very informative Good Food Guide.  Borris and Dorris seem to be doing a good job judging by the response and the compliments on this board.  If you don't like the Good Food Guide then don't read it, but don't spoil it for others.

  • It might if Arnie & Jamie actually went to some of the better gin joints in town
I have to say having read some of their so called "visitations" they speak highly of most eateries that i would not step foot into.

    Regards to all

  • Hey Sebastian.  I wondered when you would surface.  We had bets on how long it would take you to add a negative comment to the Good Food Guide.  As for not stepping into half of the places we've visited then you are missing out.

We speak as we find, try to give an accurate description (rather than an opinion) of the restaurant and the food, but it is up to the individual to make up their own mind.  What suits one person will not suit another.  It is our objective to cover ALL types of restaurants, even the cheep and cheerful out of the way ones which tourists are delighted to be told about.

This project will take many months to complete and will eventually cover restaurants from Los Gigantes marina - to El Varadero as well as a few further away.

  • No accounting for your taste!!
But i do believe one was not being negative just adding constuctive comments about the dreadful eateries you had already visited, as you say "tastes differ"
As for taking many months to complete is this because your waiting for your pensions to come over??

Although it is actually a very good idea. Keep it up Arnie & Jamie
    ps whens your next dance??

  • :D :D Seb what can I say, Iquote m not sure who Arnie and Jaime are but never mind. Glad you think it's a good idea. Hang about this must be a first Seb says something positive on lg.com! :P :P  If you donquote t like any of the restaurants and bars checked out so far then thatquote s ok, itquote s true to say we have not looked at some of the more prestigious places so far, but that will come. How about telling us which eateries you frequent, then me and Dorris will go and check them out, no problem. I have to say though you are right on one count the pockets are not bottomless the pensions have to go a long way, and if we ate at more restaurants it would give away our real identities as we would become massive bloaters. Not that I am at all weightiest.
In all seriousness we hope that the Borris and Dorris bit will help visitors to find some different places, and some of the locals to discover the variety of food on offer here. Seb please let us know where you would like us to review and we really will check it out, no doubt you will be camped out to find discover our true identities.
