  • We spend all the events like birthdays, X-mas or New Year in the French restaurant Nova Bleue. For us is the best in LG.
I don't want to talk about it, because other people already do it:

At last a really good restaurant has opened in Los Gigantes.  Nova Bleue (Blue Star) is located beneath Colonial Park, next to Il Covo or Mamma Luciaquote s as it is sometimes known.

This new establishment opened only a week ago serving French food accompanied by a very good wine list including some very good (Ribiero del Duero) Spanish Riojas.  The restaurant itself is very tastefully decorated, cutlery and table ware is very attractive and the inside is fully air conditioned, and they allow smoking both inside and on the terrace.
We went on Sunday and, accepting the fact that we were the only diners, the service was superb.  We chose the 7 course, yes 7course, set menu which included Pate de Foie Gras, Filets of trout with Almonds and an excellent Noisettes of Lamb in a truffle sauce.  Vegetables cooked to perfection and we chose a very reasonably priced Rioja which again was a cut above the average.

Give it a try, its very good, and therequote s not a chip in site.

    Have a good stay.

  • El Meson is great for food and service - many people in the past has stated that the service is over the top in some aspects. I think it is lovely to be pampered and to have a little banter with your waiter.  It's a friendly, happy environment and plus you get a complimentary bottle of El Meson wine to take away with you and/or a free local taxi home.  Hubby and I graciously except the plonk every time and then walk off our delicious meal.  I thoroughly recommend this restaurant. ;D

el rincon is definatly the best restaurant around, but, they dont have a web site - i think juan carlos concentrates on his food!!  but, he did win chef of the year last year!! well worth the visit!

  • I tried Juan Carlos in Los Gigs recently and found it very good. We had the "menu del dia" and were served with seven courses varying from local fish to Iberic pork.. it was also nice in that the courses were not rushed and we had time to chat between and digest the meal. Mind you we sunk a fair few glasses of wine!!

  •  Sorry to go on about juan Lanas, but isnt nice to have a restaurant close by, thats worthy of praise, I get sick of pizzas, chicken & chips, fish & chips, chinese.

I love the fresh veg and the different menus of the day which are all a reasonable price for three course meal.

    Ciao for now. xxx

  • yes, thats the one! you do have to book though, and, i think they close on friday nights!

and just thought of another good restaurant - in lower  puerto santiago in the new building next to the barcelo, a fish restaurant called barca del nino. great location and good food, lovely staff.  not sure if they do meat dishes though, maybe just fish?  ;)

hopefully, its because they change their menus too regularly and perhaps have daily specials etc.
