  • Hi everyone,

Can anyone advice me where to get the best paella in the area??  Know people have their own opinions but would like to know what options we might have to get the best paella when we come over in July, a dish my hubby doesn't generally go for, but, I am getting him used to the idea.... (fingers crossed) .... i love it so we dont have it very often.... the paella that is.... before anyone starts to get smutty!! lol!!

I look forward to hearing your thoughts.

    Regards

    Julie xx  :-*

  • The Paella in Casa Pepe is excellent and also very reasonably priced but you must book because Pepe is full most nights.

  • and I would go at lunchtime to La Pergola in Marblanco near the Barcelo Santiago Hotel. They do a  traditional paella and a very nice variation which has pasta in instead of rice. It's a meal for 2 and if my memory serves me correctly lunch is served till 5:00pm, I think the dish for 2 was about 20 - 22 euros

  • I haven't been on this site for a while and I know you've probably had your holiday but the BEST Paella is at EL MARQUES. They do it on a Wednesday and Saturday lunchtime, 1pm. It is 7 quid and you get a glass of Sangria with it. As I don't like sangria they always give me a soft drink instead. They start cooking it about 11am and it's all marinated and cooked to perfection. There are all different meats and huge king prawns. You get fresh french bread and butter with it. I've always eaten it and can say I've never had a bad one, I even won't go down the beach on these days haha.

  • Praiso del sol los gigantes. Paella and a litre of sangria or a bottle of wine for two people for 30?
