  • What is happening down the Marina? Both Off Shore and Churchills seem to be having refits will they be closed for long? Why are they both closed at the same time?  Does anyone know what is happening?

  • Churchills only closed for one day, due to too much sawdust etc. Refits on both Churchills and offshore now completed and both open.  Both bars done in a similar (ish) style, and no, Churchills is not being renamed Offshore 2, The plans for Churchills were done quite some time ago.

  • Alex you're just plain rude.
Hanbag Tony n Jason are a solid couple.Jason's a gem of a guy.
The Jason you're thinking of is Jason who works in Las Brasas, next to the Chick Shack.
Get it right n don't go involving other people.

  • Well said Blue, Jason is a really smashing lad and does not deserve to have himself or his long time partner dragged into a gossiping frenzy.

  • You pathetic lot !!! havent you got lives of your own !!! with your own problems and your own skeletons !! ive got plenty of my own and dont need to cause gossip for anyone else.

Carls had a crappy couple of years, and has tried to move on. Unfortunately hes easily lead by a pretty face, and then tends to give them everything, so in return they walk all over him. Sad really   :(! But it seems he hasnt learnt yet.

Does it really matter that "hes not the only gay in the village"
We have had a fall out , that seems to be common knowledge around the village, caused by one of his pretty boys, but I still care what happens to him and whats said. And leave poor Handbag Tony and Jason alone... !!! LIVE AND LET LIVE !

  • Can any of you imagine what upset this causes for Carl?  Why cant you lot just leave him alone to do as HE chooses with his life? How would you feel if it were your life under the spotlight?!?!?

P.S  Well done for 'b4outing'b4 a STRAIGHT GUY!

  • Having known Carl for a long time, i am very supprised that he can be so badly treated, by making his personal life so public. He is a nice guy and doesnt deserve this treatment on here. I have known both  Carl and his partner Andy for a while. They both work in the bar and create a very good night between them. I am sure Andy must be feeling very hurt by all this gossip, when they are such a happy couple who go together very well. As for Jason, he has been a friend to both Carl and his late partner Royce for many years. So just leave Carl and Andy to get on with their lives together. All i can say, is that it is a shame that you people out there have nothing better to do than to slag to thoroughly nice guys off. Please leave them alone.

  • I don't think the person's sexuality matters,I just think people should mind their own business.Because Carl happens to own a bar does not mean people have the right to interfere in his personal life and pull it apart.Yet again it shows that this web site is not being used in a productive and positive way, aren't we supposed to be encouraging people to come to Los Gigantes and all we do is slag each other off! Excellent, well done!!!!

  • At Last !!! its the bars on the marina again ! not personal lives !!! Well done big Jo, Bear and all who agree. so lets get on with the bars gossip.

Firstly the marina is going to see a few changes regarding the management down there ! cant say too much im related to some of them , but the marina office will change hands, but someone is definately staying, hes been given a contract by the new company, to work with them ! caused a bit of a family rift. Things should settle into place by September.

The good news from the UK is that the Tourist board are now pushing the canarys again, so think POSITIVE ! Be nice and smiley and friendly with the tourists !!! even if they do annoy you.!!!

DONT EVER FORGET ! We will all be out of jobs, if you treat the clients right, they will come back !!!
Dont fancy fishing or Banana picking myself !!!! What a thought !   :o

    Hasta la vista baby xxx

Hola ! The only problem with the marina is the community for Poblado Marinero. They dont want noise ,music after midnight. so its a bit difficult to get the place buzzin ! plus the lack of parking space doesnt help !

  • music doesnt have to be to loud to get it buzzing. It could become anice place to chilll out especially without cars in the front of the bars.It needs the rents to become affordable :)

too right 8)  look at what theyre doing on the front at san juan - the marina could be twice as good,    and perhaps the council could replace our black sand with golden sand in los gigantes too..... ;D

  • Work has started on the marina replacing pontoons.  No, this is not a rumour I have seen them working, theyquote ve started on pontoon 4.

The last really bad storm was April 2003. Finger pontoons snapped, many boats were damaged.  Hope we donquote t get another storm like that one this April!

  • Sadly DD the storms will only get more severe and with the expected increase of 3 to 5 metre in depth of sea level within the next 10 to 15 years. Also something concerning myself is the amount of hurricanes predicted this year should be the highest amount ever.
    When will we learn???
