  • COME ON GUYS THE PRICE OF DRINKS IN THE WHOLE OF "LOS GIG" ARE WAY OVER THE TOP AND DONT TELL ME YOU HAVE TO COVER THE ENTERTAINERS WAGES. HIGHLAND PADDY IS AS EXPENSIVE AS DRINKING OUT IN A DECENT BAR IN LONDON. DONT COME BACK WITH THE WEATHER STORY REMEMBER GLOBAL WARMING IT WAS EVEN SUNNY THERE THIS YEAR

  • Sebastian, I dont know where you have been drinking, but it was obviously in the wrong places. I have always found bar prices to be entirely reasonable and in fact cheaper than many establishments in my home town in North West England let alone London. There are only two bars that I avoid in LG these days - both in close proximity to each other in the centre of the village. It is true that these places tend to attract the younger element who are used to paying club type prices and dont seem to mind. Thats my feeling, anyway.

  • I couldn't agree more Royl.   Maybe in some of the places the prices MAY be comparable to the UK Sebastian - but the measures are certainly a LOT more generous than in the UK.   Some places are definitely more expensive than others - the cheapest place we found was Pilgrims in Playa de la Arena - E3.50 for TWO brandies and diet coke, and they certainly didn't skimp on the measures either.

Just as a matter of interest Sebastian, do you ever have anything constructive to say as all you ever seem to do is make snide comments about what other people have written?

  • OH how wrong you are Jane. All i was saying that the prices for drinks and the standard of food in general are way over the top surely even you can see my point of view or are you like the one that mentions a bar in P de A which by the way has nothing to do with Los GIGANTES or do they now have there own website?
What ever happened to sense on QUALITY and GOOD SERVICE.
    regards Sebastian

  • Get a life Sebastian. I can easily spend upto 100 quid on a night out in the uk, even George Best couldn't of spent that much in Los Gigs. Suggest you get out more too..... I was out in Las Americas this week, 10 Euros for Pint and Spirit Mixer in the BUDA Bar (No Entertainment), 10 Euros for 2 Heineken in Yates and 9 Euros for a pint of Diet Coke and 13.25 for Vodka Coke in JAZIZIMO,  :o Yes 22.25 fro 2 drinks !!!  I have named the bars so you can go and check the prices out for yourself.   Gimmie Los Gigantes any time... ;D

  • Yes, keep well clear of those Dens of The Devil. Much nicer ambience up our neck of the woods but I do believe that this website does also serve the areas of Puerto Santiago and Playa de la Arena - which is probably why Kirkton Lass included her drinks comment. Certainly not Americas !
Psychocat - thats a long way to go for an expensive drink !! - but entirely up to you.

  • I didn't say I frequented thse establishments, I was just trying them out, certainly won't be going back to places like this in Las Americas with those prices. Still cannot understand Sebastians attitude to drink prices in Los Gigs.... Perhaps he is comparing them to a pint of Stout as his local working mens club (or has it now been re named Asylem job seekers club) or perhaps a bottle of White Lightning, in a brown bag, from his local offie !!!! At the end of the day, he can always buy a bottle of spirits from the supermarket, take it home, create his own atmosphere drinking it with all his friends....... ON HIS OWN !!!!!  ::) :o ;D

  • Thing with Lg is you can sit at home with a drink and appreciate the weather or go to a bar and enjoy company but you dont get the same aggro as the uk and its a hell of a lot cheaper give me Lg any day :)
