  • This bar is now under new management, with a new menu.  Also doing take aways.  Beer Battered Fish and Chips at ?5.50 or two for ?10.  We had these last night and was superb.  Sunday Lunches are ?6.50, take your own plate though.

  • Jodie, what type of fish is it ? Not the dreaded Panga I hope. Too many restaurants are using this Asian creature. Yuk !

  • Hi everyone, just got back from Arena last night.... boo hoo....

Just a few interesting facts about Calypso.....  We ate there quite a few times and it was fab....  Had the dreaded Panga.... it was nice but the beer batter that they serve it in is gorgeous......  well worth a try... i was dreading it but the batter made it all worth while trying it....  lovely mushy peas too... yum... and a really good price too.....

Tracey does the most delicious lemon cheesecake...  well they do alot of different desserts.... toffee apple cheesecake, fruit of the forest cheesecake... etc... u get the drift....

Sunday lunch.... u only bring your own plate if u want take-away.... which is understandable incase u don't bring their plate back??  Fair comment i thought??  Their sunday lunch is fab... propper beef, chicken, turkey, pork... non on this pre packed stuff that u zap in the mircowave.... real veg too... i know alot of places use frozen stuff but not at Calypso.....

It had a really good atmosphere.... Tracey and Brenda make u want to go back again.... very friendly girls.... and Tracey is a fab cook......

Highly recommend a visit to see the girls....

    Regards
