  • Shame you missed it .Was a real good day. They put on a great buffet and the free shots were never ending!  Even though the was no live muisc it didnt feel though anything was missing. There was a great quiz, fancy dress and some good party music. The bamboo girls looked great. I hope we catch the next one when we are back out.

  • Why no live music ? I've been to a few in the past and they have always had
    live music so what's changed.

  • Well I would be in agreement with you Pedro-  if I had bought an apartment over a nice quiet hairdressers and then they turned it into a bar. As the Bamboo is one of, if not the oldest bar in the village, I think he must have know what was going to be underneath him when he got his apartment. If we were talking about noise after midnight I would be in agreement. But Los Gigs IS a Holiday resort and in my opinion if people can't find the entertainment that they want they will go to other resorts - which ultimately affects all of us including the nice German man upstairs who I believe runs, or used to anyway, a restaurant in Masca!

Does he send in an official complaint during the entire week of Carnival?, I doubt it. No I personally think HE is being unreasonable -  one Sunday in four -  which is what it actually is should not be a problem if law on decibel levels etc are complied with.

  • Have to say I totally agree with Gigi.  You can't buy a house next to Gatwick airport then start winging about the noise!

Because of all the problems mentioned above live band 'Underground' are now doing their monthly gig at Tajinaste restaurant.  Their next gig (plus guest singers) is this weekend Sunday 29th April at 3pm.

  • I  agree  with  Linda and  yummy  yummy
i loved  the  "old  bamboo",  had  great  nights  there, now  adays  its  so so  different.
The  "old  bamboo"  did  not  have  live  music,  did  not  need  it,  the  charm of  the  bar  staff  was  enough.
lets  face  it  who  wants  to listen to  a couple  of wanna - bs  sinning out  of  key + tune, on  a  lovely  sunday  after  noon.
bring  back  some  class to  los  gigantes,

    yummy mummy

I've been visiting L G since john&helen had the bar they had music helen and other's used to do it As for jamie& june a party once a month is not a lot to ask for! As for the comment about being run by kids you are right ! BUT they do a good job and name me a bar in los gigs that is not staffed by under 25's
I AM SURE SOME KNOW ALL WILL TELL ME!!!
my post was to ask how the party went not to slag off the bar and staff as some of you have.

There are many places in Los Gigantes without music for those who want it, also, live music for people who do.  The Bamboo used to only have live music once a month starting at 2.30pm and finishing at 7pm, sometimes with a free buffet and theme to the party, which you dont get anywhere else.  I for one look forward to getting it back, at least it was a laugh, with free shots, you cant beat it
