I was out on the Nashira Uno watching the spectacular fireworks show, out of this world I must say. I have photographed the fireworks in Edinburgh for a few years and I can say that they come nowhere near this event. I'll be back next year for this one.

I've attached a few images I took on the evening.

Monday 18th July All children's rides in the Plaza at the special price of only one euro

Friday 8th July 2005
Full day of workshops, water sports activities etc in the old Harbour Puerto de Santiago
20.00h Open air Concert in the Plaza Puerto de Santiago Featuring the Santiago del Teide Big Band and "Primitive Sound System"
Saturday 9th July 2004
9.00h Closing ceremony of the Summer Football School
10.00h Beach Volleyball Championship and Canoeing Championships in the Old Harbour Puerto de Santiago
22.00h:Open air concert in the Plaza Puerto de Santiago: with "Montse" and David Bustamante in concert followed by dancing into the early hours to the sounds of the Arguyo Band and "Discotecas Moviles"
Sunday 10th
  • 11.00h: 10th annual Swimming Race from Playa de la Arena Beach to Puerto Santiago (Old Harbour) ending with a huge Paella on the beach for those attending.
  • 19.30h: Grand Folk Festival in the Plaza - taking part are: Tayme The Stgo del Teide Folk singing and dancing school, "Raices" of Stgo del Teide. Presented by William Luis and followed by an open air free cinema showing of the movie "Los Padres de El"- Parents of the groom
Monday 11th
  • 21.00h: Open air theatre in the plaza performed by the Stgo del Teide Theatre group - presented by Israel Socas
  • followed by open air cinema showing the film "Bailamos" Lets Dance
Tuesday 13th - Children's Day
  • 11.00h: All day children's outdoor party in the old harbour with bouncy castle, foam party etc.
  • 20.00h Open air Children's party in the Plaza with Grupo Sole, Grupo Infantil de Onelia, Grupo Amanecer Latino, Grupo Chicas Sexy, Los Bad Boys, Tamisur, Grupo los Aranzazu and Hector finalist in "Veo Veo" Presented by Tina León and Jaime Hdez.
  • ending with an open air cinema showing of "The Incredibles"
Wednesday 13th
21.00h: A variety show in the plaza compered by Yaneli Hdez and Gilberto Isande with the Spanish Ballet of Genero Arteaga, the humour of Yaneli Hernández and the Star attraction "Charo Reina". The Queen of fiestas 2005 will be elected during the evening.
Thursday 14th
  • 21.30h: Grand Variety show in the plaza compered by Tina León and Jaime Hdez., with the Beijing Acrobatic troup from China, "Los Trabajaras and the star attraction the singer "Mayelin"
  • Followed by a grand open air dance carrying on until the early hours, to the music of the "Corinto Band" and the Mobile Disco Show.
Friday 15th
  • 21.00h Festival of folk dancing and singing, Lanzarote-Tenerife with performances by; Tigaray, The humour of Jesús Farrays and from Lanzarote the Guadarfia group with Ico Arrocha and compered by Andrés Martín
  • followed by the Grand open air Ball - dancing to the music of Caracas and the Mobile Disco show in the Plaza Puerto Santiago
Saturday 16th- Day of the Patron Saint - Our Lady of Carmen
  • 21.30h: A solemn parade of the Statue of the Virgin - our Lady of Carmen, accompanied by local dignataries including the Romeria Queen of Fiestas and the Municipal band, from the parish church to the plaza in Puerto e Santiago,
  • followed by an open air mass celebrated by Father Jesus Pérez Báez
  • followed by folk dancing and singing, with performances by the Stgo del Teide Folklore school
  • donations of food will be accepted in honour of the virgin, which will later be distributed to the OAP and disabled centres of the county
  • followed by THE GRAND FIREWORK DISPLAY put on by the Toste brothers company from los Realejos.
  • after the performances the statue of Our Lady of Carmen will return in procession to the Parish Church
  • The evening will finnish off with a grand open air dance to the music of Fortaleza, the Arguyo Band and the mobile Disco Show, carrying on until the early hours.
Sunday 17th
  • 11.00h Mass celebrated in the Parish church followed by A solemn parade of the Statue of the Virgin - our Lady of Carmen, accompanied by local dignataries including the Romeria Queen of Fiestas and the Municipal band, from the parish church to the old harbour in Puerto de Santiago where the statue will be placed on a decorated boat and proceed in convoy by sea to the harbours of Los Gigantes, Alcalá, Fonsalia and Playa San Juan on returning the procession will return to the parish church.
  • 14.00h: Final of the Dominos Championship
  • 21.00 in the Plaza Grand open air end of Fiesta party - with performances by the local singer Johan, the comedian Panchín, a concert by "Lolita" presented by Cándido López folloed by dancing to the music of Gomeray, carrying on until the early hours.
